ABOUT US
The Academy is a place of both traditional learning and healing through Nêhîyaw worldview and identity. Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners are guided by kihtîyayak (elders) and traditional knowledge keepers on a journey of revitalizing sacred Indigenous practices of education and healing.

OUR MISSION
The Wîcîwisis Campion Academy aims to create healthier nations by helping individuals understand their natural identities through connecting to the land, empowering their spirit, and working for the Creator. Through a combination of oral history, experiential learning, and community engagement, participants will gain insights into the rich spiritual traditions of Indigenous culture, the significance of land-based education, and the healing practices that have sustained these Indigenous peoples for generations. Students will learn culture through hands-on practice with both elders and traditional knowledge keepers to develop a transformative understanding of Nêhîyaw Pimâtsiwin (the Cree Way of Life).

We collaborate with Prairie Aboriginal Tech Services to improve access to culture, language, traditional knowledge and ceremony in First Nations and urban Indigenous communities.

We collaborate with Driftpile Ceremonial Supplies to improve access to traditional items such as the four sacred medicines, prints, materials to make tobacco ties, tipis, and more in support of Indigenous peoples' (re)connection with culture.

We collaborate with the First Peoples Circle of Life Society to provide services at the Turtle Lodge ceremony site in the Edmonton region.
